More than 200 Government Organizations participated in this years' Conference held at the Crowne Plaza. The main theme was "Improving Human Resource and Payroll Productivity". DPM through their presentation informed all participants on cost saving measures and strategies that the government has put in place to minimise the over expenditure in personnel emoluments budget currently experienced by the government.

A critical exercise that DPM has commenced on consultation with the Departments of Treaury, Finance and National Planning is the data cleansing exercise and looks at the specific areas of Position, Employee and Allowances. A forensic audit has commenced into the most poorly regulated allowance which is the Special Domestic Allowance (SDMA) and Domestic Market Allowance (DMA), this will be followed with a detailed audit into the no-essential overtimes as well. Audit findings will be revealed to agencies concerned and action/s will be taken on any fraudent transactions. This deliverable is expected to see potential savings in this area. System controls will also be implemented to strengthen the area of configuration in Award, Classification and Allowances.
