Where does each of us fit in the bigger development picture of PNG? This was the challenge given to the graduating students of the Papua New Guinea Education Institute by Department of Personnel Management Acting Secretary Ms Taies Sansan on Thursday 29th November 2018.
Sansan stressed that not everyone need to occupy certain positions or be successful in certain areas to be counted as a development agent of the country. Consider where you came from and that should be your calling.
This year marks the 59th year of PNGEI and the theme for this year’s graduation is ‘The Right to Quality Education is the Right to Quality Teaching’.
Stressing on the theme, Sansan added that education is a basic right for every person regardless of creed, nationality and whatever background one comes from.
The six different awards presented during the graduation are Certificate in Elementary Training, Certificate in Elementary Teacher Training, Diploma of Teaching Technical Vocational Education-Pre-service, Diploma in Education Primary In-Service, Diploma in Inclusive Education In-Service and Bachelor’s Degree in School Leadership and Management while the Certificate in Elementary Teaching-Mixed Mode students graduated in absentia
