About DPM

“The Department of Personnel Management has been established as a central government agency under an act of parliament called the “Public Service Management Act 1986″, and its subsequent amendments of 1995.The Public Service, through its institutions, play a vital role in the Government’s macro-economic, social, political, and development management goals.”

Roles & Responsibilities of the DPM

  • Advise the Minister & Government
    Administer the PS(M) Act and
    promulgate regulations.
  • Regulate
    terms and conditions of employment
    Monitoring Committee (SCMC) Act.

Functions of the DPM

  • Regulation of all forms of employment in the State Services
  • Regulation of organisation and staffing in the State Services
  • Regulation of terms and conditions in the Public Sector.
  • Regulation of management and work performance in the Public Service
  • Regulation of industrial relations in the Public Sector
  • Regulation of payment mechanisms in the State Service
  • Regulation of training & Staff development in the Public Service
